International Impact

Museums globally are saving energy and money by implementing new practices for climate control - all while upholding best preservation standards. You can too! 

Danish Cohort

In partnership with the Association of Danish Museums and generously funded by the Augustinus Foundation, 10 Danish museums completed an 18 month journey to evaluate and update their climate control practices and loan agreement language. Check out below the results from this incredible collaboration!

Participants in North America have been embarking on innovative and inspiring journeys – tailoring their collections care and loan agreements to best practices – which means more accessible and greener as well as better conservation parameters. 

The Royal Ontario Museum

The ROM take sustainability seriously – from connecting collections to climate to implementing sustainable practices in their operations and daily work. See how they are addressing climate control in their building – and all during a rennovation! 

The Portland Museum of Art

PMA implemented new Bizot ranges in just 3 months! The incredible teamwork has led to energy savings and further understanding of collections and buildings. Now they are testing energy efficiency operations. 

Art Bridges Foundation

The Art Bridges Foundation is participating in the Getting Climate Control Under Control Program to update their collections care practices with their permanent collection and rewrite their loan agreements. 

During the program, the team has: 

  • Updated climate control practices to Bizot 
  • Updated loan agreements 
  • Sustainability Statement for the organization
  • Sustainability Appendix for Loan Agreemeents 
  • An End of Life Policy Template for loans
