What Our Champions Are Saying
“For the Museo Moderno, engaging as a champion in the Ki Futures Project has been a remarkable journey with a steadfast focus on sustainability. Having the opportunity to participate and dialogue with other museums and coaches has been an inspiring experience to promote the commitment to environmental consciousness and the integration of social and eco friendly practices among the Museum team. As a champion, we've played a pivotal role in steering the museum's initiatives towards a more sustainable path. Our focus on a sustainable path has been integral ranging from accessible practices to include activities, from environmental care to carbon footprint measurement. Through the participation in the program we not only gained experience but also broadened our mindsets for the challenges to come. We are thankful to the Ki Futures team for guiding us, for generating space for learning and for building networks and to Teiger Foundation for their generous economic support.”

Museo Moderno Buenos Aires“The BC Museums Association is proud to be a part of this growing global network of arts and culture professionals who are working together towards a brighter future for our planet. Our organization's guiding principle is the belief in the transformative power of museums. Museums are not neutral, static institutions, they are trusted leaders in their communities and must take that responsibility seriously. It is our goal to empower our members, colleagues, and partners to take climate action and make sustainability one of their core principles.”
Vanessa Gelhaar
British Columbia Museums Association“Two years ago I came to the cultural sector with a charge to improve the sustainability of a forty year old museum in the northeastern corner of the United States. Fortunately I happened upon the Ki Futures program, an emerging collective of climate conscious peers from around the world.
Suddenly the work, while still daunting, is buoyed by shared experiences, best practices, and dare I say some tremendous friendships. Adding this tool to your toolbox will restore your hopefulness for the future while demonstrating the true value of collective action.”
Mike Brown
Portland Museum of Art“Being part of Ki Futures is a really good morale boost. To know you are not the only one who cares about this, having that intangible aspect of sense of community has been really helpful to work on my goals.”
Rachel Yerke
The Henry Ford“The Ki Futures program is an amazing resource for museum and cultural professionals working on sustainable practices, I couldn't recommend it more! The regular training sessions, support from experts and personal coaches, as well as the online space to request help and share ideas are all invaluable in moving forward action in institutions. The Ki Futures team are a truly inspiring group who are approachable, knowledgeable and above all, friendly. They make the process and often daunting scope of sustainability seem manageable, and are always supportive of projects and viewpoints.”
